Cisco, a world leader in
networking for the internet announced its continuing investment in Sri
Lanka by opening a state of the art Rapid Fulfillment Deport (RFD) in
Colombo.
The newly built Rapid
Fulfillment Depot was ceremoniously opened by Cisco Sri Lanka Country
Manager Mr. Natarajan Rajkumar & Mr. G B Kumar, Sr. Vice President,
Customer Advocacy Group, Cisco Systems, India & SAARC.
The new unit aims to
provide premium support services for Cisco customers & partners
complimented with a round the clock enhanced service to reduce network
downtime, delivery lead time and costs.
This operation was possible
when Capitol AEI (Private) Limited (DGF Sri Lanka) the Exclusive Agent
in Sri Lanka for DHL Global Forwarding obtained a Telecommunication
Vendor License from the local authorities to act as the
“Importer/Exporter of Record” to support this process. This was the
first instance that a non-technical support service provider was given
the Vendor License by the local regulatory authorities. DGF Sri Lanka
will also provide the Customs Compliance activities for both Imports and
Exports of Cisco RFD.
The RFD in Sri Lanka is
operated by DHL Exel Supply Chain (DESC Sri Lanka) and this center will
become an important milestone for the Asia Pacific Service Supply Chain
Delivery (SSCD) team of CISCO
bringing the total number of depots across the APAC to 103.
